Is it possible to buy the round cross section black rubber bands that are used to attached bike computer mounts, lights, mud guards etc. without paying over the odds for small pack pack of brand name spares?
You mean o-rings? They're available in all shapes and sizes for pennies on ebay.
I think O Rings would cover the description better, and certainly the larger variety that you get for lights and computers is what I'd describe as being an O Ring.

I couldn't tell you if they are the same thing though, and if they stretch or are as robust or have no stretch, but they're really cheap so you could get some and see how you get on.
