You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Righty, after "accidentally" amassing enough road bike parts to construct a bike from - one piece at a time - i'm on the home straight & need some input on the colour of the stem/post/headset/seatclamp to finish it off...
It's getting a silver Athena groupset, black Zondas, silver Ritchey bars (managed to find some old stock classics with the Logic curve) & a black Flite Titanium 90 saddle...
I'm going for Thomson stuff to finish it off - do I go with all silver, all black, or a combination of the two - black post & stem / silver headset & seatclamp or vice versa?
Help me decide... 😕
Black.
I'd go for black stem and seatpost with silver headset and seatpost clamp. On 'modern' bikes silver seatposts and stems look a bit off to me. I think it's something to do with the amount of post on show.
When in doubt, black, black, black...
Cheers folks - I was thinking black originally but I do like the silver thomson stuff...
I've got a spare black headset I can use too, so that's another incentive I guess - I'll settle for silver bars 😉
Finally got this bugger finished at the weekend - went with the black post/stem as per consensus which I think was the right choice, just enough silver on it with the groupset & bars... not had a chance to get out yet, had literally just finished a rough indexing of the gears & the heavens opened for 2 hours straight 😡 (excuse the terrible phone pics...)

You should have gone silver.
Personally i would of gone silver! Modern bike, but with a retro feel, especially using that groupset. Black is bike colour that says "generic" to me.
But i won't p*ss on your chips, because it is a lovely looking bike!!
😆 should have seen that coming, having seen it built up now I could probably have gone either way, hard to tell for sure before it's in front of you - stem & post are easy enough to change I suppose, might keep an eye out on t'ebay for silver bits if curiosity gets the better of me.
