Trying to source black M5 bolts in a few different sizes (35mm, 5mm, 15mm) and one m4 bolt in 12mm. Silver ones would look awful on the bike. Anyone know where I can source single nuts, bolts and washers... all in black? Amazon/google not being so helpful rn

thx

I've half looked for some myself, seems to be called "black stainless" https://www.accu.co.uk/search-uk?query=black+stainless

Depends if you want shiny I guess.

There's a band called "Risk" (ironically) who sell titanium hardware on ebay/AliExpress etc. They're available in black for a very reasonable price and I've found to be very good quality. I've got a few of their brake caliper and disc rotor bolts that I've been using for a while with no issues.

GWR fasteners for alloy, accu for steel.

You will find cheaper from 'bike' vendors and aliexpress etc. but both these companies are making their own screws / sourcing in the UK so the quality is known.

I have used this company before. Bolt base in Alloa, Scotland. Think they are on Ebay too.

If you have bolts already, have you considered applying Birchwood Casey Super Black (or Super Blue) ?

PSA - sorry about the inevitable ‘Murica Yeah!! content that you’ll discover when googling this stuff. Gun people love it, cos god forbid you get a scratch on your gun.

If you have access to a blowlamp(and the bolts are steel) you can do it yourself with oil.

Unbrako 12.9 socket head screws. Plenty strong, great quality, black but not cheap. Completely over the top for a bike...For example single unbrako M5 screw can take a load of 18kN, 1800 kg

Westfield's or accu are good to purchase from.

Fun fact: the head markings on screws indicate strength. You may see 12.9 which guarantees atleast 1200 MPa ultimate tensile strength & yield point is 90% of UTS. If you see no markings then assume it's made of cheese...

While browsing R2-bikes website I stumbled across some lovely titanium and alu bolts and washers under the screws and bearings section. Postage might be a bit steep for a small order but there's plenty of bargains to tempt you, I always seem to find an extra 2 or 3 things like a spare rear mech to add to the basket 😀

Can you just buy a multi pack of 10/50 and hacksaw them to length? I do that all the time when diving in the spares box.

And do you actually need 12mm and 15mm, or can you just lose the extra length inside the frame?
