I've lost my army surplus one and I'm a bit torn between replacing it like for like or trying something else. The army one was great apart from being a bit heavy (I can live with that) and being eaten by insects and slugs.

Alpkit are out of stock and no news on when the new hooped bivi's will be available.

Any recommendations for either a fully waterproof hooped bivi, or at least one with a mesh panel that can be  zipped up?

Should have said, budget is more Army or Alpkit than TerraNova, £20-£65 🙁

Could be tempted if that's the only option though, where did you find it for £95? That's about the same price as the Dutch army ones which were my other thought, but presume they're considerably heavier.

I have the Stratosphere. It is £125 but very well made and not quite as claustrophopic as non hooped.

The Alpkit Hunka and Hunka XL are in stock in all colours according to their website. I'd go for the XL, there's a good bit more room than in the standard size.

Get a tarp over a cheap bivvy- if they don't breathe well the condensation can be unbearable
