Anyone know where to go to get X-fusion shock serviced? I was told only place in the UK that can service these are 'TF Tuned' who no longer support X-fusion. Don't really want to get into self servicing as I don't have the time or the confidence. Either that or it's a new more serviceable rear shock for the FlareMAX.
Yeh saw that, is that literally the only place? Seems really daft that X-fusion would make a product that is so difficult to get serviced
I think they also make it difficult to get a lot of the parts so it’s difficult to service yourself too. I looked into them but decided not to buy one of their forks on that basis.
Bit miffed really. I have X-fusion forks which my local service centre can do. It's just the shock. May invest in a new more serviceable one as it seems like a right faff.
You’ll struggle to find a rear shock that’s properly home serviceable (bar the Suntour on the front page). You need to be able to bleed the damper properly to avoid cavitation, then charge is using nitrogen (which is probably OTT but it’s what they do). The air can is a doddle, the damper not so much
Jtech have serviced my old Xfusion shock in the past, not sure they still do.
http://www.lemonshox.com/ can apparently get Xfusion parts, but haven't tried personally.
Yeh fair enough, I don't think I'm brave enough to do it myself anyway haha. I think going for something more widely accepted at service centres is the way to go.
Yep, I stopped buying Xfusion stuff for that reason. Shame, some nice forks.

Same. I've got forks and a shock that need loving, just sat in the garage. It's too hard/expensive to get simple stuff like a seal kit to make it worthwhile to sort them out.
I decided to replace my x fusion shock rather than service recently. went for a dvo topaz, part of the reason was that they are home serviceable. Shock servicing seems disproportionally expensive.
Upgrade wont sell X Fusion shock damper seals or provide service manuals, I have tried to buy them for my workshop/customers. (Doesn't matter I have a vacuum bleeder, nitrogen, been doing Fox and RockShox etc for years) It can only be done by their service centre.
I know some guys who have just pulled them apart, measured seals and rebuilt, but they do service shocks regularly so were happy to play with IFP depth etc.

RockShox stuff is pretty home serviceable, Fox tends to need a lot of ££ tools.

Especially since I found the dampers on the RL2s seemed to be in need of rebuild inside six months. You can buy seal kits from the states (ebay etc) but the shipping etc made it ridiculously expensive.

I did my Rockshox Monarch myself. Just needed some care and skill, some shaft grips and a lot of instructions. And a special pump that goes up to 500psi. Nitrogen charging is optional according to the instructions.
PS I wonder if you can make your own nitrogen for charging shocks?
I can sell you some nitrogen, guaranteed 78.09% pure

Rockshox and Fox publish full rebuild guides for their stuff now, and you can get most bits as spare parts...

RockShox UK dont use nitrogen last time I asked.
Hobbyweld nitrogen cylinders are cheap if you want one, or doing Fox needle IFP.
Funnily enough, my X Fusion forks dumped a load of oil out and I had the same message from TF Tuned this morning. So I rang Upgrade, they told me to fill their form in.....which is only available if you have a Google account! I refuse to have one so asked for the plain form - which they claim they don’t have. This is feeling like a farce.
Can anyone recommend some not too expensive 29” forks that can be repaired?!
I've a Fox Float 29" fork sitting in the garage going spare after I 'accidentally' bought two for my new build if you decide that Fox is an option...
I've used upgrade a fair bit for my forks and they've always been great.
Thanks Ross. Is it boost or not please (my wheel is the old style Through axle)? I’ll drop you a message.
I bought a set of NOS Trace RLs for £180, servicing them in Spain is £130.
Having serviced Pikes and Dvo’s at home I assumed they would be home serviceable too, big mistake!
Never again I’m gonna buy x-fusion or any brand (cane creek) that doesn’t support home servicing.
I couldn’t even get any brass keys from the disto or anywhere else for my xfusion dropper 🙁
manitou macleod is not much more than a service plus home serviceable.
