There was some felling going on near the off piste bit near the Belvedere when I drove past at the weekend. That’s as much as I can tell you…

Prep work for felling been going on for a few months, as I understand the blues have diversions at the moment with felling starting in that area now or after Xmas, spreading towards race course side, went race course side off piste last week and all fine at the moment.

Yeah the only closed bit last weekend was the top bit by cafe that joins the blues and red

They'd clear felled the area around the red/blue intersection just near where you cross back over the Chudleigh road, when I was there Friday last week. So the trail this is (I think) 'Twisty walkers path' on strava wouldn't be accesible right from the top, but i think it's just the first section thats gone, and you can get into that trail off the blue a bit further down. Race course side had a couple of trails blocked off by brash, but I think that would be more likely friendly local dog walkers, rather than the FC as there was no signage. The ones I saw blocked were where 380 goes into the new growth just past the start of white footer, and the one that doesn't seem to have a name that starts off to the right of the fire track just after you would have turned up to the left to get to the start of 380. That was friday last week though, and very likely someone has opened them back up last weekend.

The top of the blue is still closed, and the off-piste in Tower Woods (after dead dog and road crossing) is unpassable due to felling. Red and black are fine and there's loads of off-piste in decent shape if you don't mind it being extremely mucky and slippy!

CxM those would have been your tracks we saw on Friday night then! It was FE maintenance work I believe. The stuff plugging up the top of Larching About was from the tree directly above - you could see lower branches had been pruned. We cleared that and the stuff on a380. 👍

On the hub side Prairie/Hedges/Dragon's Back, Shirty Bertie, Traily McTrailface, Smelly Ring, Smelly Ring Ring, Taint, and Secret Garden Party will be closed for at least a few weeks, probably a few months for felling.

Some of these trails are the best off piste at Haldon IMO, hopefully they dont get too ruined!
