Up at my sisters for the night, got mine and laddos bikes in the van. Just near the spar shop on Halifax road, fancy a quick blast in the morning for say 60 mins, got zero kit with us other than a lid and a bike each. Where to head?

I'd recommend Elland woods. Head to Plains Lane (just off Park Road, Elland - near Park Wood crematorium). Cycle up the hill, adjacent to the wood, eventually you will see some paths leading into the woods. Head up as far as you can go in the woods, then pick your way down. You may need to explore a bit, but theres enough there for a couple of hours. It's likely to be a bit greasy in there, and take care as some bits are steepish in places.

Or, head to Leeds bike park for a convenient and very enjoyable ride with a cafe.

Elland Woods will be horrible and slippy right now (as will all our local woods..)

Do you mean the One Stop shop in Hove Edge?

If so head down Mill Hill lane opposite and where the road goes right head off into the wood down a rocky double track and keep going down till you pop out in a factory yard and go through the small gate in the big gate if its not open. Follow the road to meet the Elland Rd opp the Red Rooster. Turn right.
Turn left at Avocet Hardware and go find the canal. Over the bridge and left to Brighouse. Once you reach Brighouse come off the canal and turn right (past Millars/Rockt to go find Lillands Lane which will lead you to Rastrick Woods.
Go all the way across the top (it will be muddy in places then follow your nose downhill to the bottom and as long as bear left once you run out of gravity you will end up in the opposite corner to where you came in.
You should now be the railway line, cross this and keep going forward, over the river and you are back at the canal.
Depending on time you can now retrace your steps by turning right on the canal towards Brighouse or go over the bridge towards the pallet yard, to the main road (Elland Rd). Cross this and take the footpath opp to climb up Ashday Lane to Southawram. This is the route to Elland Woods for future reference if you turn left at the Cricket Club.
Follow the road steeply uphill to the village, turn right at the top then take Law Lane past Papa Jews till you reach Whitley Lane. Folllow this downhill till the right hand turn that is Walter CLough Lane. Turn right and take the footpath on the left to follow the valley to the plastics factory.
This is worth a look around, its all derelict buildings and graffiti. Once you have had a nosey you need to find a steep set of steps heading down into a narrow snicket. This will take you to a stream that leads back to the valley you started in. When you hit tarmac again turn left then right and keep going to find Halifax Road.
Good Luck 🙂
