I'll do more of a review of my new Bird AM9 is a bit, but today's just a post on customer service. My front 1x12 SRAM SX shifter is brokem. No problems, its just one of those things. The mechanic said did I want to raise it under warranty, or just buy a replcement from Wiggle.
I messaged Bird, on a Bank holiday Monday, in the middle of lockdown with a question, and got a "no problem- sorry for the hassle, send us the serial number and we'll get a replacement out" within 30 minutes.
I know they have a reputation for good customer service, but thats just stupendously good.
Good work Ben & co- really excellent.
They’re very good like that! Are you sure you have a front shifter for your 1x12 set-up though? 😉
Excellent service. A great company 👍

This could well explain why it wasn't working.
If they're giving you wiggle credit I'd take the opportunity to upgrade to a GX
Not only they have some of the best bikes around, regardless of price, but their costumer service is really something else.
I enjoyed the experience so much that, after owning a Stumpy Evo for a year I'm considering buying back my old AM9
Is shifter the wrong word? The button thing on the handlebars that changes gear? Surely thats a shifter 🙂
Yes agree with all you say. Good company, nice people, great service.
Front shifter shifts the front derailleur (which doesn’t exist on a 1x).
The rear shifter (on the right) shifts the rear (12 speed) derailleur.
So, as there’s only one, let’s just call it the shifter... 😜
HTH
Thanks @metalheart thats helpful and makes complete sense 🙂
It’s almost like he’s stuck at the house with nothing else to do 😉
They're great - in 3 and a half years of ownership they've never let me down.
I had a problem with the forks on my Zero, emailed Bird post night ride before I went to bed and had a reply by breakfast the next day. They were also super helpful in the testing and buying process too. Just ordered bearings from them for my headset and they arrived much quicker than expected, I could've got them cheaper elsewhere but I'm happy to support them any way I can.
I've also had great service from Bird. Ordered a 200h service kit for my Lyrics and the damper sealhead was missing the seals. Ben sorted it with SRAM and I was sent a new sealhead with seals super quickly. Thanks Ben.
