Hi, I bought a 2013 Lapierre zesty 214 at the beginning of the year and only got out on it 3 times since.

I really want to get back into cycling. I used to race DH but I'm older and more fragile now and loving XC riding.

Basically, the main reason I don't go is no one I know really is into it so there's not much incentive . It's a waste just sitting gathering dust and I miss going out and used to love it.

So question is really are thee any groups in the bedfordshire area that go out on a weekday eve of at the weekends? Chicks ands or woburn or anywhere near me really. I'm in ampthill.

I'm allllll lonely

Cyclone ride on a Sunday morning out of Woburn

Very nice bunch of folks, I rode with them a couple of times when I was visiting Northampton

Normy I'm in Ampthill.

At the moment I'm being a gruff git and riding on my own. To knackered from work to get out for long

But there are groups that night ride from Ampthill every week

This may help

http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/ampthill-riders

This might lead some where but is a bit out of date

But you best bet is to ask in the Old Sun when they area round

In the summer when my energy returns I may be back in touch

Loads of MTbers around and about at Woburn in the weekday evenings and at the weekends. Park up in any of the popular spots (top of the Brickhill behind the church, or main layby south of Woburn Sands on the A5130) and say "hello" to any bikers! Most will let you tag along 😉

Cheers guys!

I'm pretty much the same to be fair... And having just had a baby in August and work in so knackered anyway I struggle to find the get up and go

I forgot about the old sun always see the bikes outside in the summer. I go in there for a beer sometimes so might ask around then. Didn't realise they went from ampthill thought they just stopped on way through

I'll prob need to get my fitness up to anywhere near acceptable on my own anyway first .... Thanks for the info though!

Normy,
I'm in Marston, and prefer a bit of XC to DH.
Work in Bedford 'til 1800, but can be around after that.

PM me if you fancy a weekday or evening blat with a slow bloke who also needs to get his fitness back!

Kev

+1 for cyclone - been a member for years and they are a great group. I don't ride with them as much as I should but the pass for woburn is handy as well.

Chicksands is great in the summer for a bit of fun
