Hi

anybody know how this will go - hoping to be able to just rock up and go or is it booking/special carriages only etc

Short local trips - Ely, Brandon, Saffron W etc

Thanks

You could just cycle!! I'm going to say yes as I used to take a bike on a train during rush hour but I think the official line might be to book. If you go from Cambrvidge north nobody mans the gates

I regularly do this from Cambridge to London, and there are no restrictions and no need to book.

I think there is one line that has restrictions from Cambridge. Possibly the ones to Stansted?

Time of day? Pretty sure there are restrictions on trains in to and out of London during weekday rush hours, so might affect Ely and Saffron Walden. Otherwise it's turn up and first come first served so you should be fine.

I get the train to Audrey End fairly often. It's no problem to just turn up with a bike.

Great Northern no problem. Greater Anglia 2 carriage trains only have 3 bike spaces which they strictly adhere too. Having said that I've had no issues when I've just rocked up
