Hello!
Sorry to distract you all from the 'broke up with my boyfriend' thread, but does anyone know any trail centers with bike rentals which are close to train stations? I really want to take a mate biking but he's without a bike. And we're both car less.
I'm Manchester based, peaks / north wales / lakes, it's all good.
Many thanks

There is (at least was) a hire place virtually outside Windermere station.

You can walk from Rugeley train station to Swinertons at Cannock Chase. According to Google it is 2.4 miles and will take 50 mins to walk. He might be better off getting a taxi while you ride. By the time he has sorted the bike out you will be getting there.

No trail centre but the Manchester to Sheffield line has loads of riding options and a bike hire place has moved into the old 18 bike shop in hope

You can get the train direct to Staveley and then hire a bike from Wheelbase. Plenty of riding to go at from there.

Delamere is a good idea. No hills to put off a newbie.
