Help required. I've been biking in Les Arcs several times but not managed to locate the trail on this video. Anybody recognise it and able to tell me how to find the start?

Please email me direct if you'd rather not publish the location!

🙂

Surely someone on here must have ridden this trail!

It looks like trails in Vallandry. They are easy to find, just look for the yellow footpath signs off the fireroads. We found loads when we couldnt follow the cr*p signage (made worse by the cloud cover at the time). "secret" trails used by guides in the area arent hard at all to find, not like UK cheeky stuff. I was there for 2 days, and did loads of excellent single track that wasnt on the official trail map.

At 4.30 they on the opposite side of the hill to Vallandry I forget the name of the place but you can get the Vanoise Express from Vallandry, the massive one after the lobster pots, over there and get the lift up.

8 minutes in is Axe wound. It's brilliant. Go to the top of the Vallandry lift turn right head down to the little shed thing, turn left at the shed and follow it all the way until you get to the little church.

sorry if this is a dumb question but I've been looking at the trail map that Wozza posted and can't quite figure out, can you access all the Vallandry side by going up the funicular and then riding down to lifts and sort of zig zg your way across or do you need to drive round to get to the Vallandry and Vanoise lifts? cheers and sorry for the slight hi jack Airscool

going up the funicular

Yep and Cachetes (sp?), then follow your nose along and down. It's well worth it, the trails over that way are incredible. You can get back to Bourg with only a little bit of road too, so no driving needed.

Hey no probs mr monkey. The more information the better. Heading off for 2 weeks starting in Bourg riding Sunday, then La Thuile (ace), Aosta, Sauz D'Oulx, Bardonecchia, Montgenevre etc....

Thanks for that, went from Chamonix thru Bourg last year but it was raining so just kept driving and went to Deux Alpes instead. Then ended up going to Valloire and never made it back to Les Arcs so want to have a look this year. the plan is to go to Andorra for a bit then drive to Les Arcs, then Chamonix and ride Pila while we're in Cham.

Went to Aosta/Pila last year and spent most of the day up on the blown out DH runs on the hill and then did the freeride to the valley floor at the end. With hindsight I'd have done the FR 3 or 4 times. That's the plan this year!

Sorry mate just seen this. By "opposite of the hill" it's a relative thing. We stayed in Peisey and our flat looked out over the valley to the area that they're riding at 4.30. I asked the lads what it was called and the closest answer I got was "La Plagne" which we're not sure is right, but the signs in the vid do start La ***. The end of the trail (45 minutes later) pops out about 30minutes along the road from the Funi in Bourge.

I'm sorry it's so vague but we had a trailaddiction guide showing us around so it's a combo of not paying a lot of attention to where we were and the guides knowing the trails very very well. I can't recommend them enough.
