Hi all,

Anyone have any ideas? My post has stuck in the down position and I can’t free it. No issues with air pressure - it retains pressure, although is empty at the moment and still doesn’t move. Hoping it doesn’t need sending off as I’m in the middle of a shock service and a carbon repair - this is the last thing the bank account needs!!

Is the actuator at the base moving freely and fully?

The guys at BikeYoke are pretty quick to respond to technical queries, and their posts are user serviceable, well, more than most anyhow, so you may be able to get into its innards if not.

Do you mean the little protrudence that the cable moves? It’s difficult to tell as it’s up inside the shaft, but I think so! Ok, I’ll try contacting Bikeyoke direct, thanks…

Yes it is - if i push it in it moves freely

Seat clamp too tight?

yeah was going to say the same thing about the cable pull. I greased mine (ooh-er) and water contamination  turned it all into goo that caused the actuator to be sticky, cleaned it all up and left it dry and it's behaved itself ever since.

Mine didn't stick down though, it just engaged intermittently

Not the seat clamp, it’s not in the bike at all at the moment. It is pretty grubby and has the same goo you talk about, but the actuator works. But the post won’t extend… Appreciate the help, thanks

At least they're pretty straight forward to strip and clean. I followed this and recently did mine, and trust me, if I can do this and still have a working seat-post at the end of it, anyone can.

Yes it is – if i push it in it moves freely

Pulling it down fully is what should allow the post to move. Stick a screwdriver through it to confirm you've got full movement in both directions.

Without any air in it, the post won't move surely?

@nickc that’s what I want to follow - I’ve got the service kit to do it, but because it’s compressed it won’t come apart.

@martinhutch - I don’t understand - there’s just a little plastic knob to push and that goes on and comes back out under pressure (or a spring?)

Blurry photo, but that bit in the centre…

Was about to query why it is up in the shaft!

This bit sticking out of the end.

It’s a divine SL - nothing sticking out the end, it’s all up inside!

270 psi back in it and pressing on the actuator and still nothing happens…. Frustrating! I’m onto Bikeyoke for advice

I have a BikeYoke Revive. Don't know about the Divine but there's an internal foam washer in the Revive that can lose its shape and extrude into the gap between the inner and outer shafts. This happened to me and stopped the dropper from extending, I was able to pull it up by the saddle though.
