You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I'd like some-one, anyone really to make a carbon HT that's a bit rowdy, but isn't a million squillion pounds.. I'm looking at you Yeti and Santa Cruz.
I’ll also echo the 29+ thing… it never got big enough for people on a budget to risk getting one as their main bike.
+(!)1. I bought one (used) intended as a rigid doitall (thinking a quick tyre-upgrade would take to singletrack, parks etc) then realised mine had too-narrow rims to take >2.5”. Budget now spaffed so the plus wheels and tyres remain an expensive dream. It’s a good gravelbeast on 2.2s tho…
@scotroutes ARC-X? I'll second that. And I'll add disc brakes.
But what I'd really like Yeti to make is an aluminium SB140 29er with a threaded BB that weighs no more than 7lb with shock. I love the switchinfinitybollox.
29+ is great now that there are tyres not made out of cheese. Loved the Stache but couldn’t afford to keep replacing rear tyres that kept getting wrecked. Revisited a few years later with a Stooge Dirtbomb and the tyres, although eye wateringly expensive, are holding up fine.

..and Transition?
Totally agree. Best ride for me at the mo seems to be a carbon HT. Couldn't find one for love nor.. well, money, except 2nd hand Vanquish/Throttle.
Yeah when it comes to hardtails; reasonably priced carbon seems to be only for race or XC bikes only.

Did someone already suggest an updated On One C456?
A 29in version with modern trail bike geometry (and hopefully still with the original £400 price tag).
following on from the "can i single speed my Orange five" thread:
A "Play" downhill bike. (ie, not for racing)
Singlespeed specific, for reliable, rattle free, low maintenance priority.
Suspension designed to primarily negate brake input and be as active as possible, while minimising maintanence requirements. (as few bearings as possible, and where they are required nice chunky ones)
Bikes that come with 50% off.

Titanium Kona Paddy Wagon
Titanium Kona Unit
Aluminum Transition Spur
My smuggler is getting on a bit and fancy a change.
Santa Cruz to make some nice looking FS bikes again, I know it’s form over function but I just don’t like bikes with shocks down low like theirs
@ayjaydoubleyou Starling, once again, making the bikes people actually want!
A Beady Little Eye is my desktop background, and one day will hopefully make it into the garage! Or I’ll just hack my Five to make it singlespeed and utterly ruin it in the process…
#dogbone......great call for a new Yeti 575 without all the extra complicated suspension guff.
a good quality british steel fatbike, stanton , cotic, anyone.
Raleigh Grifter 29er, 3sp
It’ll be great
I would be so heavy it would bring the tide in everywhere you rode.
I always thought Whyte should have done a hard tail version of the PRST1
Or maybe a rigid one
I'd like a sub £500 hard tail with over 500mm reach.
“The full Stooge – I know it goes against the ethos of the brand but I’d love to see a full sus Stooge bike just to see how it would look.”
I posted exactly that up on the Stooge Owners FB page a few weeks ago. Taz came up with what would probably be most in keeping with the Stooge ethos, and that was a softail Stooge with a sprung truss fork.
There’s a Black Sheep build that looks a likely candidate style-wise.
110 rear, 140 from steel short travel full suss, anyone? Sounds lot like the fun short trave bike loads on here seem to want

A Klein 29er. Rigid XC/ gravel type geo.

Yes please!
Seems crazy that Trek don't use the name anymore. A steel Bontrager HT would be cool also.
