Stolen from my garage on Thursday night, cut through the hasp. Gutted doesn't come close but hopefully the insurance will pay out.

Will get some photos up later but can be seen here :

https://www.emtbforums.com/threads/stolen-mondraker-crafty-and-giant-defy-west-sussex.36127/

The 21 XL Mondy was heavily upgraded (had it just how I wanted..... )
23 Zeb Ultimate
23 Super Deluxe Ultimate coil
Shimano linkglide drivetrain
Praxis cranks with Sram Xx1 chainring
Code RSC brakes
Carbon Oneup bars
Burgtec stem
Chromag dagga pedals
Red Burgtec axles

Defy was 3 weeks old
Size Large
105 Di2
Zipp 303s wheels with Schwalbe Pro One tyres
Carbon Deda handlebars

And they took my 2015 Defy frameset for good measure

If anyone sees any dodgy looking listings please let me know

I'm with Avivaplus who have confirmed it should be fully covered (bikes not named but covered under unlimited contents which includes garage), some specialist 3rd party handles the claim apparently. The Giant is fairly straightforward as I have receipts for it, The Mondy has had bits bought from here, there and everywhere, new, secondhand, online, ebay, LBS etc. Anyone know how much of a battle I'm likely to face and how long these things take to settle?

I just want to know how much I'll get and how long so I know how long it is before I can ride again! Weather so nice right now too....

That is gutting, everyone's worst nightmare.

Also West Sussex - will keep an eye out - which bit tho....

Fingers crossed they might turn up or Aviva come up trumps

Worthing. Defo targeted though and prob in a van so could be anywhere, more about dodgy for sale ads these days I'd have thought

I wrote off a Condor road frame that was handled by Aviva and their cycle people - they were great, sorted in a week, even to include the cost of the original custom paint.

Be honest about the spec and replacement cost.

Wow, that sounds promising! Yeah I've had people suggesting I should claim for all sorts but I don't want to go down that road, if they pay me what I paid for stuff I'll be more than happy

Was about a week from me sending them a report from the LBS confirming the frame and fork were knackered - they offered me the current RRP for the replacement F&F per Condors website, I pointed out that it had been a custom colour and forwarded the email from the LBS saying it would cost £100 to swap the parts over, and they paid in full less the excess.

FWIW, if you have any photos of the bike just to confirm it existed and what the build was, or had been, if you are a serial parts swapper, then that may also be useful. (I set up cycle replacement schemes for a couple of insurers in the late 90s - always remember one poor sod who sent in a picture of a low spec Marin to support the claim for "his" stolen top end Marin - guessing he wasn't expecting a claims handler to know exactly what they were looking at!)

make a spreadsheet with each bike, what you added to it, and new cost of additions. we have Aviva and they were excellent. they won’t quibble over a well-prepared claim. if your garage has access to the main house, it’s a more serious offense.

Yeah, that's today's task. I did see the policy says the insurance value for contents should be cost to replace, I assume though that for things bought used they'll pay you that value rather than the new price?

The garage is detached from the house so the Police weren't interested in attending. And I need to chase them for the crime number they said they'd email but haven't

@TiRed - the new size L Defy was the replacement for the XL frame you did the virtual bike fit on for me a couple of years back. You were right, the L was a much better fit!

Thanks mate. If you see anyone on the trail on the Mondy please direct them headfirst into the nearest tree for me!

Is it Wheelies?

They may try to pressure you to take "credit" to spend with them, rather than a cash settlement.

I did that with part of my payout, but wished I hadn't when I needed warranty help.

They mentioned the name but I didn't mention it. I do think it might have started with a W though. Hmmmm. Don't fancy a credit note to be honest
