Been asked to keep em peeled for a couple of bikes nicked from inside someone's house -

Trek Emonda in white with distinctive pink&blue bar tape + Boardman Hybrid in dark grey

Report if seen, thanks!

Apparently, the thieves broke through a wall to get to the bikes. Jeez

House wall or garage wall?  Regardless, that's a horrible thing to do.

There's been a spate on the IoW recently too. Not good.

Someone broke through a masonry cavity wall to get to a decent road bike* and a halfords hybrid? seems bizarrely disproportionate. Shame they didn't collapse the wall on top of themselves though.

Anything else taken?

*compared to a MTB though, a good road bike has much lower value, and much of the cost is the serial numbered frame.

That’s a bummer and a new worry in how destructive someone determined will be to get a couple of bikes.

On a positive note from my local police beat report for August the law have picked up a couple of scrotes who they think are responsible for the thefts of bikes from the campsites in the new forest.

There have been 20 bicycle thefts in our area this month, with 9 taken from the Hollands Wood campsite and 11 from the Roundhill campsite. The good news is that 2 men have been arrested for thefts from the Hollands Wood site and they are both still under investigation. However please stay vigilante and make sure your bicycle is as safe and secure as it can be

I thought the typo above may have been a Freudian slip...! Bombers out...

Sorry, don't know, I heard about it from a friend. She only said they were gutted about the bikes.

yes lots of it going on at the moment.  good news they caught the guys targeting campsites.  let's hope they get more than a slap on the wrists

does seem super extreme for thieves to be going through walls.  surely there was a window.  as I found out a double glazed window last seconds against a bloke with a hammer.

it must have made an awful racket and no one noticed?
