Can you officially take a bike into a Travel lodge room? I can't find any details on their website.

I know people have done it but is it up to the receptionist?

Looking at staying in one before the ride so they will be squeaky clean.

Used to do it loads when my two boys were racing, never had anyone question it.

I used to check-in, drop bags off and then go and get the bikes.

IME at Premier Inn it's usually worth asking when you check in and it's never been a problem.

At Travelodge you can basically set the room on fire before anyone gives a toss.

I have done so before, the receptionist never batted an eyelid.

I think Premier Inn have made it official. It was on the website last time I looked.

I've done it at both, I think the receptionists probably see far more worrying sights than a bike coming through the door.

Clean bikes only obviously. Don't take the mick.

Never had a problem taking the tandem in, as long as it was a ground floor room. ONce got allocated a first floor room in Cockernouth and they said they were happy for me to try to take the tandem up but it was too much hassle so I locked it to the car outside reception in view of the cameras. Also had to take 3 tandems up to the first floor in Dublin as their idea of bike storage was optimistic - we'd said THREE TANDEMS and they said "yep, no problems" - the "room" was a cupboard measuring 6 foot by 3, tandems are about 8 foot long. To their credit though as above they didn't bat an eyelid, even offered use of the lift (again, only 6 foot tall so tandems wouldn't fit)

Yep, done it in both.
Bikes were relatively clean and dry, as long as you don't take the proverbial they'll be fine.

I think (especially on a friday and saturday night) that they are aware of their customer base, which may be different to the country as a whole.

Premier Inn have an official bike-friendly policy.

Never had a problem at a Travelodge though. I’ll probably switch to Travelodge for BPW visits now that there’s a EV rapid charger in the pub carpark next door.

Done it many times at Merthyr. Even done it at the Hilton near Glasgow airport!

Ask if you can lock them in a secure room (eg. laundry as above) as it saves you struggling up stairs. Unless you want to tinker!
