You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Fair play to them, listening to the comments; even if I personally thought it seemed like a good idea.
Also nice to see a company engage/react to social media with its customer base.
£10 is fair, Windhill is £10 and I thought that was good value for a days riding on purpose built trails. So that makes BPW an absolute steal.
Is it though? All day access to well maintained trails with more being built/improved constantly since the site opened? Good value IMO. A tenner won't even get you into my local cinema!£10 to pedal up is a joke.

Haha I was just about to post that. It's the cost of 2 pints and a packet of crisps these days mores the pity.
It would appear that everybody loves to use our pay as you go (PAYG) uplift system…..

Unless you were hiding under a rock all day yesterday you’ll have noticed that we made an announcement about a proposed change to the way we sell our uplift tickets. Despite significant research it looks like we have massively underestimated how much our customers value the PAYG system. For this reason we will NOT be proceeding with the trial announced on April 16th and the current PAYG system will remain in place. We have listened to the feedback which is overwhelmingly in support of the PAYG system and as improved customer service is the driver for the proposed trial there is no longer any sense in running it.
The introduction of the trial was driven by negative feedback on the PAYG system at peak periods when some customers have experienced longer waits, perhaps we’ve focussed too much on the negative and missed the positive sentiment towards the system? We are still committed to tackling the issues that can be faced by PAYG customers during peak times and we will be closely monitoring PAYG ticket sales during the busiest times of the year and managing this. Additionally, as we’ve already announced we are investing in a significant road improvement scheme and new larger vehicles which will help to further improve the service.
Sorry that we misjudged the situation this time but be assured we are listening and that our customers come first.
Thanks for your support

👍👍👍
Well done BPW team. (I bet once this got on STW they had to reconsider 😆 )
£10 to ride the trails all day is not unreasonable IMO, the new full day uplift price is a bit hefty though - and that's where they really stood to gain from these changes anyway.
Is there any actual evidence that the drivers are throttling the runs?
Maybe I was being harsh and it's been down to lethargy, inefficiency, or whatever rather than deliberate throttling. I'm keen to see how many runs can get in with the new road and uplift truck making it more efficient.
I'd agree that £10 is not unreasonable. You can easily pay £7-8 to park at a trail centre and I'd wager BPW is investing a lot more in trails than most of them.
I usually get 12-13 rides uplifts in in a days session, which isn't bad. I think it still worth it.
£10 for a days access also seems pretty reasonable for what you get. Swinley is £4 for parking and Gawton is £5 for access, both nowhere near as good as BPW. It would be frustrating being a local though. They ought to offer a locals membership or similar.

Really? BMCC is just along the road, Forest of Dean isn't much further, Antur Stiniog offers a pretty similar experience- the main difference is polish/marketing presence.
Still putting in the price increases though, £10 to pedal up is a joke.
It's £6 per adult for access to the Drumlanrig Castle grounds to ride the trails there and while I love those trails I doubt they're as extensive as those at BPW.
Drumlanrig is expensive IMO - £24 for four of us a few weeks ago.
It's £4.50 for a car or van at Llandegla, good cafe, good shop.
It's free for natural stuff, ofc 😉
They do!They ought to offer a locals membership or similar.
it's always a PITA when prices go up but put most people are happy to spend at least a couple of grand on a bike so it's still relatively cheap in context.
Oh well total forget what every one said above.
THERE IS NO CHANGE - PAYG SYSTEM IS STAYING.

Seems a little steep - and the pay as you go offered a flexible (and sensible) option to non day pass people.
But - I guess they know their onions. It's a business and if they have a service that sells - and will continue to sell at the higher price, then they will do it.
Is it a good business move? Depends whether they irritate/alienate enough people with the price hikes to lose revenue or whether people will see that the continued investment in the new trails sufficiently warrants that additional wallet hit.
Personally, it is a once or possibly twice a year pilgrimage - I'd probably still fork out as a treat, although it makes it less appealing when our cycling group is trying to keep the weekend cost down!
The problem is that you cant just think a week in advance, oh, lets go to BPW on the weekend and do the uplift as it gets booked out 3 months in advance
That will be supply and demand at work then
Is Ebike the answer ?
No need to pay for uplift and you'd be able to get more "Descents" in a day without relying on the Bus, assuming the battery has the capacity for it
Rather than cancel the increase they BN should have done the political thing of still increasing the cost but less than the initial anoncement.
