You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Ok, Inspired by that bikepacking thread, I want to get some kit together to go next year, as soon as weather permits.
Me and my wife have imposed a limit of £50 each for our Chrimbo pressies. I have already Booked a Gelert Solo tent for £27. What other useful piece of bike packing kit can get for the rest.
Cheers
Paul

& a stove for £15.
*NB i have neither of these. i have loads of expensive bivvy kit that i'm too busy to use 🙁
Thanks, email to wife being built ! I there is something really cool I may need to get it earlier.
Twenty quid will get you an entry for El-an Back ... doesn't get much more bikepacky than that 😉

Mini Trangia, less than twenty one quid on Amazon so enough left over for some Christmas chocolate.
^^^^ My favorite so far, but leaving it to OH, add to the list.
OP, I've got a gelert solo I don't use anymore that's in perfectly good nick. It's yours for £15 if you're within easy reach of huddersfield. Email in profile
Edit: +1 for mini trangia

Edit : was the Solo any good ?
headfirst, ygm.
Karrimor website £16 for a Ti stove in the sale 48g , also do a cook set. Worth a look.
Righog, its a good little tent, but just too little for my purposes.

myheadsashed.. I love sheds too. but I could not find a link to the stoves you mentioned. 😳
Edit : Ahh Karrimor I see now, original said something else.
Get a Tarp! We have these TW tarps at work - really, really good for the money. We have 2x Huuuuge Zoids's and 2x Cornelius/Sargasso.

As mentioned, tent already on the way, however, that Tarp looks the business. This will be on the extra, non chrimbo list. Might even persuade some others to join me on the road.
I've got a Tesco Ultralite down sleeping bag (used twice) that you can have for £20 (leaving £3 for a spork:) ). Packs small and is great for summer trips.
Righog.
Xmas 2013.

Tony - Anyone over 6 foot will struggle in a gelert solo, so it might me a bit small.

I will add longer steerer to the list/ !
hip flask!
Couple of the Alpkit Airlok XTra dry bags. One for under the bars, one for under the saddle. Add a few straps or bungees:

Personally I always like a proper pillow rather than a log to place my head on, I reccomend this, for just £10:

the site has lots of other good things on too, I don't work for them, just bought a lot of kit there and always had great friendly service.
Vorlich- how do those salsa anything cages hold up with just zip ties? Do they shift around much when loaded?
@jamest Not at all, although it's only loaded with around 450g. I've ridden down some reasonably bumpy, steep stuff with it loaded up with no problems.
The inner tube helps give some grip against the fork leg. I do try to be careful when lying it down or against anything to make sure it's not in contact with anything.
