I want to do a few nights out this year and need to sort out the basics for shelter.

I'm guessing a tarp set-up, ground mat and sleeping bag.

Help me to get myself a decent little set up friends of STW.

Two things:
check out this forum.. http://bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/phpBB3/index.php

do a search of this forum.
Bikepacking is BIG at the moment and there are lots of recurring threads on it.

Thanks chap. I have used the Bear Bones store and forum before.

So much info, I was hoping. To be able to put together a shopping list.

I'm not quite sure what you are after. There are no "one size fits all" solutions, no one else has an idea of your budget, how warm you sleep, how comfortable you like to be etc.

I don't really know myself.

I would be doing single nights out, mainly in the warmer months.

I'm not after luxury so would be happy with a tarp/sleeping bag/ bivvy bag/ ground mat set up.

I don't want to load the bike up with the proverbial kitchen sink.
