So need a new light for the road bike and have a £20 halfords voucher needing to be used so have been looking at this.
Can anyone tell me about clicking through modes - if i'm on brightest setting and want to quickly turn it down (ie when a car is coming the other way) do i have to click through a load of flashy modes?
Also, any better mounts that people use? Does the £10 hope one fit?
Thanks.
Yes, you have to click through the modes, (and there's a lot of them) Personally I just shade the light spill with my hand.
Don't know about the mounts.
I like mine.. get the trugger switch and swapping between modes is no bother. Typically you keep it in second brightest anyway.
The charger port lets it down. Too tight. I had to return my first as connector ripped out when i removed the charger cable.
You go down through the modes, so from brightest you just do a couple of presses to dim it. But you have to go through the flashy ones to get back. It's a bit of a pain, I don't bother really. The 500 I use is spotty enough that it doesn't spill much into drivers' eyes, and this is the reason I don't use my 1600 on road.
Ah, down through the modes is fine. I presumed it went the other way. This is the 1000 one yes? Or are you talking about the 500?
Do you only get the trigger switch with the 1600? Can it be bought separately?
Thanks.
They all work the same way. Some might have a few more modes. And on some, the power button and the mode button are different, but that makes no difference really.
You don't get the trigger with any of them it's a separate purchase. It plugs into the same port that you can use to charge your other devices from the light, and my 1600 and 500 both have that port but my 200 does not. It was said on the other thread where we did these lights to death that the sealing isn't good on the plug for this when you have something plugged into it - so it is not advisable to use the trigger wen it's wet unless you find an additional way of sealing it.
