I really need a work stand for the bike, but instead of getting yet another thing to sit in the garage has anyone bodged a work stand attachment for a workmate or similar?
Thinking of an L shaded arm that could clamp into the workmate and give you the height/clearance to work on the bike at the side of it.
Or is that ridiculous?
Seems sensible enough to me.
Although you might need to pop something heavy on the workmate to keep it stable, if it's a light one.
I'm thinking of trying to make something that drops down from the ceiling, or attaches to the wall using an old TV wall mount.
My workshop is long and thin, so don't really want to be taking up floor space with a stand, so a ceiling/wall mounted should be able to be folded out of the way.
Has anyone seen tried something like this before?
@peekay not sure if you follow the USA guy BKXC (one of those Youtubers) but he did a workstand that swung down from the ceiling in his workshop a while back.
park tools make one of those wall mounted ones do they not?? **other manufacturers may also be available... 😉
Park Tool do a wall-mounted stand. Not cheap.

Have seen these, plus there are other manufacturers doing cheaper versions for c£25 on eBay, but I'm trying to avoid spending too much on this and would like to find a way to use the TV bracket.
See Tracey’s post on this thread.
That looks great, exactly the sort of thing I was envisaging.
Yes we did it with a Park tool top and a fold away TV bracket so if goes flush to the wall when not in use. Looking on how we attached the bracket to the stand I'm sure it could be bodged with any stand. Its sturdy enough to hang the Turbo Levo from
I think i have a tv bracket you can have. Lemme check.
