He's 6'3"/6'4" and 32" waist.

Lighter weight and breathable end of spectrum.

What bargains are out there?

Alpkit Floe in a long leg might work. I'm 6 foot with a 31" waist and a pair of 30" regular leg is pretty good. Tight rather than loose fit but stretchy so not bad. Maybe a 32" long would be good? Light weight but windproof so seem warmer than some. Think they're about 80 quid so not a total bargain but not horrific either.

Sounds like my size, but even conventional 'long' isn't long enough for me (I need 35 rather than the 33.5/34 that the few co's that even do a long leg consider long)

Floe are Ok but weren't long enough for me and were a bit 'legging' in look.

ION do long length options.  the shelter pants I just bought are good.  Still a little short on me but better than the floes - well worth looking at the Ion size guide.  There were some on sport pursuit and in other places.

the 'shelter' name seems to cover a variety of trousers though - some are waterproof fabrics, some 'softshell' without any water resistance other than a dwr coating so needs some research to work out what your'e buying

The other option is https://dirtyridesmtbapparel.co.uk/ who do 'made to order'.   I got a pair from them a couple of years ago in the sort of DH/motorcross style fabric.  Looks like they do lighter weight stuff now as well.  It took 3 attempts (first were so tight at the bottom couldn't get them over my feet, 2nd pair were completely the wrong waist size, but the 3rd have lasted pretty well)

I wish they'd take their pictures of kit that was any colour other than black as it's near impossible to work out the designs.  I think mine might have been a version of the gravity.

Hate to mention then again, but have a look at Madison. I got the dungarees in a small/long and they fit me great. I'm 6'2 and 30" waist. Other bike trousers have all been too short for me as I have to order small for the waist... Tried Decathlon, endura, context and alpkit(in long variety.)

Dharco do little cuff/leg extension things you can add to their trousers - made at the request of Ben Cathro.

I'm not particularly tall, but generally 31/32" waist and 33/34" leg

One One trail pants fit me well and are pretty lightweight/airy, but still have a bit of sturdiness about them. Pre-order atm though. They were giving away free matching shorts when I bought mine

I'm 6'2" with a 32" waist and really like the Altura Esker trousers I picked up recently on sale. I'm fairly evenly proportioned for my height and the Large are perfect on me. Very light weight too, almost feel like you've stepped out without any trousers on. Only neg is one pocket and it's inexplicably over the right knee.

My experience has been that if a longer leg isn't offered then it's not even worth bothering.

It's exactly that. 'normal leg' even if people think that they are long are halfmast on him.

32"W and "34-35"L - Endura MT500 Spray Trousers in a Large.

I do have them tightened up to their limit but the length is good.

Keela Roadrunner trousers have separate length and waist sizes, though I don't know if their long length will be quite enough for your needs.

As someone with a 29" inside leg I can't help thinking this is just a humblebrag. ;o)

I was going to suggest Decathlon, it does seem to vary by product but a lot of the cycling kit is definitely sized based on a "active" physique rather than going outwards.  I made the mistake of ordering some XXL bib longs and they're comedically long but tight.

I'm 6ft, a few extra kg's and short legs though. So bibs are a nightmare as either the straps and waist are right, but the legs are long, or the legs are right and I'm busting the seams and giving myself a wedgie.

Trousers are annoying to be honest. The best two I've found are the long Alpkit Floe, good but not great, troos are great but a bit more length would help

Other ones that are good are the medium long Keela Roadrunner trousers, they're slightly too long if anything.

I bought some Fohn troos in the Chiggle sale that are excellent, really long, slightly too long, and a really nice, slim fit rather than too baggy. But sadly no longer available
