You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've got Thursday, Friday and the weekend off. I fancy taking a little trip somewhere for some riding. I'm looking for some single track riding which is either signposted (trail centers) or easy to navigate. Ideally I want it to be rocky and not too claggy/muddy. I'll be camping I think.
Currently got my eyes on BPW for one day, Afan another day.. what else is there that match my requirements? What good camping sites are there in the area?
Needs to be within 2-3 hours of Newbury- don't fancy trekking to Scotland, etc.
Off the top of my head and in no real order...
The Brecon gap.
The Machen loop.
Trefil tramway.
Van road, Caerphilly.
If you can get further west then Cwm Rhaeadr, Brechfa and Nant yr Arian are well worth it.
Have a nosey on MBWales.com or NaturalResourcesWales.gov.uk
Élan valley for natural single track, route cards from Clive Powell in Rhyader.
Afan will meet your requirements.
Had quite a bit of rain lately, but all the trails drain very well.
Blade will satisfy the rocky ride, plus the other trails all drain well and will be rideable, if a little damp. No muddiest to talk of really.
Yea the weather has been proper grim the last few days here in the Valleys. Afan trails are all riding really well though, probably the same at BPW (never go there).
Fantastic. Cheers all 😀
