Merida 29er is big enough - takes my 5" tyred fatbike. After 12 flights looks a bit worn in places - cut the straps off and use a couple of heavy-duty webbing straps around it.

Nice one. Merida seems to be sold out everywhere.

Does anyone know if 29plus wheels will fit in regulas evoc 280l bikebag?

The CRC bike bag is probably big enough - they say up to 29" wheels but there was plenty of room in the pockets without deflating the tyres so I think you should be able to get 29+ wheels in there. The wheel pockets are fine with fat bike wheels as well (which is why we got them).

That crc bag doesnt have much padding in it. I’ve tried evoc regular case and it doesn't fit 29+ wheels. It may if you deflate the tires but in that case plastic rods would be pushing right against the rim which i would not recommend. So ordered evoc xl bag and hope it will arrive before my travels on the 17th.

I got one of these, it's huge:  https://www.thule.com/en-gb/gb/bike-accessories/bike-travel-cases/thule-roundtrip-transition-_-1683469

Will take a 29+ with probably just the rear mech removed.

There are a few places that have them on offer.

I've managed to squeeze my XL 29er FS (albeit a skinny XC machine) into a Bike Box Alan, which is among the smaller of the ones on the market. So long as the frame can fit, dropout to headtube, diagonally across, and the box is wide enough to fit hub width+frame (worked with mine on boost and fat carbon tubes), it should be possible to cram it in. I had to take the forks out, crankset off, bars off, mech off, seatpost out and let the shock down to compress the frame up a bit.

Kind of depends on how much faff and swearing you want to do though, If I had a bigger box to hand I'd definitely use it!
