I'm surprised, I'm guessing the lads who were the victims were quite young. I guess it's time to be more vigillant.

I'm kinda ashamed to say that my first though was that it was lads from Liverpool, and I'm a scouser...

Let's just hope it's a one-off.

I rode there on Sunday & there where only a couple of young lads on the skills bit, it's easy pickings I suppose, its a bloody disgrace though & I hope to **** this filth gets caught.

I rode there today & was in the cafe & the bike shop but no-one mentioned it. I think its time to be more vigilant over that side of the forest. I normally ride there alone in the week on my day off too.

Lets hope its a one-off, having said that Tony @ Tracs has had a few bikes pinched.

Unsavoury people everywhere but plenty of tea-leaves round Runcorn & Warrington & Winsford too not just The Pool. I saw 3 young lads heading out whilst munching at the cafe me & my mate commented on how they afforded such bikes as 1 kid was on a newish Orange 5. Having said that my step-daughter cruises about on a Meta, I'll have to be warning her.

One of the worst things about all of this is after the lads had their bike stolen they chased on foot shouting to other cyclist in the forst that there bikes had been stolen and groan men just looked the other way. I hope they spend a little time to think about that and what they would like poeple to do if they were in trouble.

About 2 years ago parked in a certain car park in Delamere, got back to the car after about 3 hours and a yellow police ticket on it and the 2 cars each side, saying Thieves and Police where active in the area, and that the 2 cars next to me had been broken into an the police where aware.

Strangely ive never seen a Police officer there, probably theyre all working undercover, or as part of a Special Branch operation.

or as part of a Special Branch operation.

Is bike theft is a threat to national security?

also a couple of years ago, we saw plain clothes coppers arresting a "gang" of thieves at the cafe car park after a targetting operation spotted them (they were scousers!) regularly breaking into, and taking, cars from there... and then about 2 months ago, there were at least half a dozen uniformed and plain clothes officers in the car park and cafe one weekday afternoon for some reason too.

Saw a police car do a lap of the Whitefield car park a couple of weeks ago, & a one parked up in the small car park at the very western end of Ashton road around the same time.

One of the bikes was a Kona Stab with Fox 40's, one a Giant Faith, the other a Carrera. The victims got on a train at Hooton and noticed 3 scallies allready on the train. They all changed at Chester and it looks like the thieves followed them to the skills area.
I gave the police all our CCTV footage for the day but if they didn't come near the cafe it won't be any help.
My guess is they were from Birkenhead.

Regaring the police operations in the car parks, there are 2 old criminals who keep getting put away but seem to be released within months and just come straight back. We know exactyl what they look like (posters up in the kitchen) and all the staff keep an eye out for them.
I just fitted a new CCTV system with a few extra cameras too.
I'll check to see if they are currently locked up or not.

Noticed the car park ticket machines now have steel cages round them, perhps Delamere is not as quiet as it used to be.

Ellesmere Port trains also stop at Hooton, also all merseyrail class 507 and 508,s are fitted with cctv, if its working, Chester and Hooton and Ellesmere port stations are also fitted with numerous cctv cameras, so hopefully they wil be caught.
