A friend had her bike stolen from off the back of her pickup truck earlier today near Hebden Bridge - not sure of the exact time and location yet.

It's a Lapierre Zesty 214 - 2010 model in red and white (pic below). It was stock apart from a Reverb seatpost (not pictured) and some different tyres.

If anyone has seen anything please reply here and/or call West Yorkshire police. Thanks.

I was chatting with a Serb lad on a plane two weeks ago and he boasted that his best pal in the town of Subotica specialises is selling bikes stolen in Europe.

Thanks Will, DBW and woody. She is gutted - just before summer riding season. No insurance either I don't think. 🙁

No worries on the hijack.

Classy guy.

We've all been there. That sinking feeling. We'll keep our eyes peeled over our neck of the woods Grum.

Hangings too good for them, etc, etc...

I'll shove a link to this thread on the Calderdale MTB Club facebook page too. Pretty distinctive bikes.

I'll keep a look out over Cleck-Heckmond-Sedge. Whilst everyone is looking out if you see my white heckler with full Kashima and/or Tomac Primer white downhiller please let me know.

Hope you get this one back.

Its a shitty hollow helpless feeling being robbed 😥 and one I am all to familiar with.

I am forever searching for my lost bikes and will add this to my mental list.

Do you know what the tyres are? That will help ID it if it goes on eBay...

OP you really need to get a spec list of the missing bike on here. the one i spotted looks almost similar apart from the different looking rims and having no dropper.
its also in the same region and has a lady owner....however this could all be just a coincidence

That ebay one looks very similar. Does your friend have a frame number or any serial numbers that could be used to ID it?

Rear tyre on OP's link is a conti, in ebay its a Maxxis?

Plus a thief wouldn't remove pedals before sale- that looks like someone who likes his pedals/personal choice and is putting on a new bike?

These bikes were sold by the load OEM build werent they. Base of the range I think.

The tyres are slightly different too. Maybe the came from the same shop, maybe it's just been changed a bit for easier offloading. You need more details, and fast.

EDIT - on the 'bay the grips are all white, push on. On the Pic above, they're white lock-ons on red collars. I'm guessing coincidence, but go and see it if poss with a big friend or two in the car with you.

the OP did say that the bike had different tyre as to whats in the photo...until he tells us what tyre specifically we wont know for sure if this the one

Plus a thief wouldn't remove pedals before sale- that looks like someone who likes his pedals/personal choice and is putting on a new bike?

again the OP said the bike was pretty much stock apart from the tyres and reverb.
the picture he posted has a pair of flats and as you say Hora they are probably the owners own pedals...most bikes at that price range dont come with pedals...maybe the thief realised this and has therefore removed the pedals and reverb as they are the only items that could set it apart?

Cheers everyone - did see that but I'm pretty sure hers is a medium not a small anyway.

Will try and find out exact spec and about serial numbers etc.

I don't think they'll be that uncommon. They were pretty cheap, my mate had one, he paid less than £1200 for it.

I've got it now though, and i'm just in the middle of stripping and rebuilding it. so if you see a fat lad around Leeds on a red Zesty 214 don't get the bombers out straight away!!

Although mine will have no stock components apart from the shock.

I'll keep my eyes peel'ed as well though.
