Sorry to report theft of my beloved 2016 Stache 5 last night-absolutely devastated as was the best bike ive ridden in years.
Would appreciate any North Leeds riders keeping an eye out.
Cheers
Sorry to read your post; thieving scum.
I'm in leeds and will be out'n'about fron mid next week.
Can you post up a pic or a description?
Many thanks for that-heartily agree sir!!
It was the rigid carbon forked model in the lovely Miami green colour-was a 19.5" frame and they seem to have well and truly sold out in that size so unlikely to get a replacement.
It was standard build - I hadn't changed a thing, although I was pondering getting some better tyres for winter as the Chupacabras were a bit scary in the wet stuff. Saved me that job now 🙁
The 2017 model is now in not quite so vivid black and comes with a front suspension fork so Trek have definitely made a big change for the updated model.
Will keep an eye out for you in Guiseley, sorry to hear.
Will keep 'em peeled In cottingley/Morley
I will keep an eye out in Leeds 17 and the trails around and heading towards Harewood.
Thanks all-really appreciated.
Will keep an eye out around Wakefield/Barnsley
Drop a photo and description into Edinburgh bikes, I used to work there a few years back, the lads will keep an eye out. We re-united a number of bikes with owners by 'stalling' the perps (who'd come in to try sell / fix the bikes) while the fuzz turned up.
Will keep eye out in East Leeds mate
noted and eyes peeled in south leeds/rothwell.
Snotrag-great idea, will do that-cheers
Firestarter/Ton-thanks chaps
Would love to be reunited with it as I am proper gutted 🙁
Oh dear. Sorry to hear this. I think there's a lot of this going on in the area at the moment, we had a targeted theft a couple of months back (expensive tools and cheaper bikes left behind), as did a neighbour. Both of us had our sheds opened very carefully, to the point where it was almost like these scrotes didn't want to cause offence. The theory I heard (from EBC actually) was that there's a container somewhere being filled up with nice bikes for shipping abroad... No sign of bikes, or parts at local shops/ebay/gumtree etc. Anyway, might be worth North Leeds people being extra security conscious...

Fozlett - which part of North Leeds?
I think its the time of year when scum are more active due to people being out at parties etc and houses/garages full of shiny stuff for xmas. I have locked my bike up and left it covered in half of Nidderdales trails so it looks like a piece of pig iron, its the only time of year when i look better than my bike!
Blader-was in Alwoodley LS17.
It's horrendous to think you are followed/targeted just for riding a nice bike 🙁
Will keep a look out in South Leeds
I ride out of Alwoodley a bit. I'll keep an eye out.
My dad lives there. He has had his garage done twice. Def by someone who knew what they where looking for.
You haven't by any chance had some building work done recently?
will keep an eye out in LS16/18 (and 28 where I work).
Thanks again to all for keeping the eyes peeled-really appreciate it
Shep-we did have a loft conversion completed over the summer-it has crossed my mind.

Could this be your bike mate ?
Based in Morley but all over the city with work, will be keeping an eye out.
Hi all - I am pleased to say that I managed to get my Stache back thanks to one extremely thoughtful individual-didn't think I'd see it again so am chuffed beyond belief!!
Thanks to everyone who has kept it in mind and kept an eye out.
I am in Alwoodley too Fozlett so not too happy to hear that the scum are back. Very pleased you got your bike back, did you get the scum too?
I had 2 bikes stolen a few years ago and another attempt to get in the garage last year. I am really careful about being seen with the bikes at home so i hope they are just opportunistic rather than targeted break ins.
Great to hear someone in Leeds got their bike back! Never saw ours again from getting done in the summer, but does frustrate me that there seems to be a real targeted approach to bike theft in Leeds. We've somewhat altered our security as a result.
