I am on the short side (5'6") and require small sizing:

Seat forward on the rails.
Stem slammed.
Said stem is only 50mm.
Bar is on the sort side.

Currently I have 175mm cranks on the mtb and 170mm on the road/hack/hybrid/cross. I do more of my riding on the mtb so would I benefit further from swapping the cranks so my little legs will cope better. Also I am planning some touring on the other bike and thought that the extra weight of the kit might require longer cranks (extra leverage).

Am I barking up the wrong tree? And before any asks if I have the correct size frames I am happy with both as far that that is concerned.

TIA

Most don't notice 5mm in crank length. The rest, I don't believe 😉

Fair enough. I'll take your advice and forget about it 🙂

On the other hand, I have flipped my stem and really liking the ride. Keeping the forks at full length too. The stem being so short means the drop in height is only abot 10mm if that.

Next step: inline post and a low profile headset when it needs replacing.
