You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I found a crack in the dropouts of my RC31's, some 7 years old. Emailed Pace and they can repair and turn round as soon as look you. What more can you ask for?
When I had them fitted by LBS, they broke a peg off the dropout, and the steerer looks like it was chewed off. when they fitted a Hope brake the bolts were not done up properly. I didnt ask for that.......
So nearly £500 of front end nearly tucked up by some idiots
So as I was fitting some temp On One forks, I got to thinking and cursing about the good service and the frankly horrific service I have had over the years
So vent your spleen and praise the infamous LBS.....
For starters; a fantastic LBS is Addiktion in Snorbens and sinners somewhere in WGC and Hatfield......
Some are good, some are bad. Have I understood you correctly, you used a bike shop for fitting forks?
I'm not naming and shaming as its someones livelihood, but there is a shop somewhere in the peak District that everyone raves about, and I found them downright rude
Tim at Sideways cycles. THE MAN IS A SAINT. (Never bought a bike from him, but he helped me find the worlds best Labrador).
Good Experiences:
Mud Dock Bristol
Pyscle Werxs Bristol
Bike Tart Canterbury
Bad:
Any in the maidstone area
been useing thatto cycles [aka bikes you like.co.uk]for nearly 20 years now ,absolutly amazeing service and sales
The one in the peak district i found the one guy very non plus.Maybe its the size of the shop and lack of stock :lol:who knows.
Depends how you see naming good ones and shaming bad ones.
the good ones need the trade and support. even a couple of bits a month.
The bad ones need shaming as it takes me a long time to earn £500 and moments for someone to ruin it and then charge me for it.
I took a wheel into a shop to be trued, then somehow it got cracked.... same bike shop used an airline on my mums tyres and somehow split the tyre; then charged her for it.
lets get this right; too mny times we are treated like idiots and rarely get treated normally.
good bike shops need recognition and supporting; the crap ones can go to hell. they give cycling a bad name.
Excellent ones are 18 Bikes and Two Wheels
A dire one i've been in 3 times, first time to order something that they never bothered to order/call me. 2nd time to look as was passing. 3rd time to buy something that Two Wheels didn't have and i didn't have time to get to 18 Bikes - Speaking to the owner about a light i was interested in only for another member of staff to rudely butt in like i wasn't even there to speak to the owner (he stood between me and owner with back facing me, literally 10cm between him and i) i just walked out, unfortunately i'd already paid for the item i went in for
