My bro is in Harrogate atm and needs a bike shop pretty quickly - (don't know what for, though,) any decent shops in the area?

Ta!

Moonglu in Ripon is excellent, 12 miles away though.

Another vote for Boneshakers. I went in there to browse while the missus was doing her shopping. Ended up spending the most I've ever spent in a bike shop.

Depends what he wants but

ACE CYCLES are great for such things as cable repairs, setting up gears etc

SPA CYCLES stock all sorts of odds n sods, though as been said have a touring lean

Boneshakers is a more mainstream MTB shop, with a smattering of road stuff

They also own the Specialised Concept store on West Park Stray

Physclosport on the southern edge of town are MTB orientated

and just next to the Odeon is the Big Red Bike Shop which is pretty new.

I'm pretty sure he will get sorted in 1 of them
