Just seen someone complaining they went to a bike shop and all the bikes were locked up, they felt like they were being treated like a thief. Not sure if there was more to this story but does seem like a ridiculous complaint.
Human in saying something daft on social media shocker.
Yeah but to complain to the shop on twitter and say you'll never go back is a bit much.
and say you’ll never go back
Sounds like they'd welcome that news.
Meh, unless they put the locks on when he walked in the shop, nothing to see here. Same reasons cars don’t have the keys in them in dealerships
Yeah people are idiots, sometimes I forget. Presumably he's complained to any car dealers, Jewellery shops, electrical stores etc he's been in to as well.
Did you tell them they are idiots ?
Had a look on their feed and it was 50% pro brexit nonsense, didn't feel the need to engage.
I was very offended last time I walked into a phone shop and all the display models were cable locked.
It's crazy that anyone would consider shoplifting, it just never happens in the UK.
Especially with bikes because if someone did shoplift a bike they'd have no means to make a quick get away.
I went into a bank the other day, imagine my horror when I was asked to enter my personal identification number before they’d give me any money! A number I tell you! It’s almost as if they didn’t know who I was! I’ve banked with them for years!
Got a link op?

Tell them it's EU regulations.
Not going to post a link as it's not worth it. I'm just going to sigh and stare of into space with down soothing music in the background.
Are going to have tea lights on the go?
Vanilla scented, I've missed the sunset though. Gutted.
Fair play on the bike shops part. Did anyone see that video from the US where the young lass gets run over after some brazen thieves run out with a high-end bike?
I'm sure they'd unlock a bike for a test ride once you've left them some ID and a bank card of some description.
Some people eh?
My experience of social media complaints is they were from folk who were completely happy with their service in the shop buy presumably changes their mind/got nagged by their wife, or were just tools ("quoted me for an overhaul but a quick spray of WD-40 and the bike is fine").
Silly complaint but it's the social media age.
However.....The bricks and mortar advantage over the internet is the ability to handle the goods. If the bike is up on one of the those staggered racks and locked in place and the yoof on duty uses all their evasive cunning to ensure they don't have to do any more than strictly necessary that bike might as well be a poster. I've been in a few shops over the years with huge long locks threaded through countless bikes. Potential customer can see the royal pita it will be to free the one they are interested in and the staff don't fancy the job either. Potential sale remains just that.
I've just found it, he's moaning about Evans and says he's off to Halfords as there's one local.
A quick look on Google shows that he'll find them locked up at Halfords too.

Ah so he has already tried to steal a load of rights from us 😉 Damm right I'd be locking everything to the floor!!

Yep. They didn’t use to lock them up at my branch, until someone walked out with a £1600 bike (15 years ago, it was the most expensive in the bikehut) without question. Someone even held the door for him on the way out.
Can't think of any bike shops that don't lock their bikes up, slightly disappointed customer services pandered to him rather than take the piss.
