Looking for a rear rack for a bike or two, to be used pretty much on a daily basis. Dont trust the strappy on things too much and I dont have a tow-bar. So, was thinking of a THULE 973 or a Saris Bones RS. Anyone have anything good/bad to say about these or some other alternative.
Cheers.
I've got a Thule clip on high (9105 model number I think), the bikes are up in the wind a little but are well clear of number plate and lights, very well made and easy to assemble. Solid as a rock once installed. I've dealt with a fair bit of Thule stuff at the shop I work in and think it's excellent stuff across the board. Not as cheap as others, but you get what you pay for
I liked the look of the clip-ons, because of the platform, but didnt like the height, The non-high one didnt seem to have a platform, a bit odd.
I couldn't find a non-towbar rack that didn't interfere with getting in the back of the car so went for roof carriers (Thule Proride 951) and haven't looked back. I don't know how I ever managed without them, and they keep your bike up high away from most of the road filth that would get them on the back of the car.
Awesome bits of kit.
