Second visit yesterday and what a blast - partied all weekend with good mates, had a load of fun on the bike. Anyone that comes away from that place without a massive grin has no soul - FACT

I can't wait...my first visit on 28/7. What's your favorite trail?

Are you wearing hob-nailed boots?

Wibbly wobbly I think, one of the blues.

Hob nail boots lay out sparkies when you put your foot down in the rock garden 🙂 (old dragon track)

It is Wibbly Wobbly - a Red. My favourite is Enter The Dragon, but really enjoy most of them.

The boots are Shimano MT91's 😉

I went for the first time on thursday and I still haven't stopped grinning. Was bone dry with lovely dusty trails. My only regret is I left dai hard until the last 2 runs and I think it was probably my favourite trail.

The blues are really good fun though, super fast and so flowy.

I'd love to go but it's always fully booked. Are there plans to increase the number of uplift vans?

Don't know about increasing uplift, but tickets go on sale 3 months in advance - book now for September - they usually sell out in a few days

I went for the first time last Saturday. We had a really good day but who knew rolling down a hill repeatedly could be so tiring?
The trails are a lot of fun and the uplift efficient, I think I managed 10 runs over the day.
My favourite trail was Melted Welly>Vicious Valley>Bonneville.
Can't wait to go back, but it's a long way from up north 🙂

Bad news - i'll probably never get to ride BPW, Gawton or any of the other great looking trails Back on Track have built. Bills and kids mean it's very unlikely i'll ever raise the cash for another trip to the mainland 😥

Good news - Rowan and the boys have just been appointed to design a bunch of trails in my local forest which is only 5 miles away 😆 If they're half as good as BPW i'll be a very happy bunny.

Timid, it's in Tardree forest, Antrim, Norn Iron. They'll have a job on their hands as it's wettest, boggiest sponge of a forest in the country. There's decent elevation though and it's home to many home brew trails. We're all really looking forward to seeing what a team of professional trail builders and all their gear can do with the place.

Sorry for hijack TheArtist but the prospect of BPA has got me all excited.

Just got back from a weekend there. I was overbiked.
'Twas ok and I can see who it's for, but not for me.
Dai Hard and Double Dragon, only problem is they don't know what a lip is.

I went expecting trail centre riding with an uplift, I wasn't disappointed.

My giant faith with about 3" too much travel. I think the bike sapped some fun from it. I nearly didn't go but saw a few quick vids on YouTube of some dh race they had there and thought I'd give it a go.

If I were local I'd go lots. Over 3hrs it's a once a year job.

A lot of people don't seem to like Rowans trail building, but I personally don't see a problem. Yes, there is a fair bit of smooth, swoopy, bermed trail at BPW, but what's not to like about railing berms?

There's always a little rock kicker, or a drop not far away. Zut Alors and Deep Navigation are plenty rocky enough, Dai Hard has a nice technical run through the woods, Rock and Roll is scary steep. There are big jumps and gaps if you want them.

Unless you are looking for full on DH, then I can't see what's not to like and I'd be intrigued to see what the haters ride on a daily basis. Ridden fast enough, there was plenty to scare me silly and plenty of wheels off the ground moments.

I generally find its people who aren't comfortable going fast.

I almost put as the last line to my previous post, that I could see it might be a bit boring if you just pootle round.

Been a couple of times now and some of the trails are great - my favourite being Enter the Dragon

However, I think they could do more with it.

Why is it booked up 3 months in advance? Each time i have been there there have been 3 mini-buses & trailers parked up doing nothing

Fry-ups. The Cafe opens at 10.00 when the uplift starts at 09.30. Fry-ups then finish at noon.

We have a tine wee hill about 40 minutes drive from here, and Rowan Sorrell has turned it into Bike Park Ireland. And it's bloody great fun. So you're in good hands.

A lot of people don't seem to like Rowans trail building

Two years ago we had no trail centres (in N.I) then all of a sudden we had 3 or 4. Architrail built some and that Welsh guy designed others. The Architrail stuff blows the other stuff out of the water for sheer fun. The welsh guy seems to like to dictate what speed you are supposed to go at by placing rocks and trees in stupid places which totally ruins the flow and after riding his versions of a freeride and DH trails i'm convinced he's never rode DH and never hit a jump in his life.

Sorrel loves his DH and jumpy, flowy stuff and from what i can tell (from vids) builds trails that let the rider decide how fast he wants to go. I'm hoping they'll let him build some proper gnar for us to play on, as all the new trails seem to cater for novice/intermediate riders. There's lots of very good riders over here and it would be nice if we had official trails that suit their needs.
