Rode Llandegla last weekend on the geared full sues and hated it. Not the place the ride.
It was the first geared ride I had done since the Alps.
Now, I am booked for BPW next weekend and thinking about doing it on the Singlespeed Chameleon with 140mm forks and a 32/16 ratio
Will I spin out? Or be better putting gears on?
Cheers

If you're on the uplift bus just put a bigger chainring on it.

If you don't spin out with that ratio on, you aren't trying hard enough.

I recon if you're spinning out on 36-16 you'd gain more speed from pumping the trail and trying not to brake than having a couple more gears on the back...

Yep, agreed on pumping. BPW is very flowy, and there's a huge amount of fun to be had seeing how much you can stay off the brakes!

I only needed one gear last time I went. If you are on the up lift you'll be fine with what ever ratio you have on there now. If your planning on riding up then unless you are a SS god then you'll need gears.
