BPW website states the maximum tyre size to be 2.75”, my bike has 2.8 Nobby Nic/Rocket Ron’s on 40mm rims. Has anybody had any issues riding a similar set up there?

(p.s. I’m talking uplift, I don’t want to pedal up).

The first slot (at the front) on each trailer will take much wider tyres

Last time I was there people were struggling with wider tyres on the uplift. I'd ring them to confirm

IIRC only one or two of the trailers have larger slots for plus tyres, seen plenty of people have to wait for a certain bus to get up on my last few visits. Trailers of their design are a bit of a nightmare with all these different whellsizes and widths floating about, there's a big difference between a small 26" bike and a large 29er! Don't know what the solution is though unless you lose capacity to gain room for flexibility.

@mcnultycop You'll be fine - as the previous guys have said the first slot in each trailer has 'fat bike' wide slots which are suitable. I ran 2.8 Maxxis tyres (on a Sonder Transmitter) and didn't have a problem with fitting in any of the trailers. In fact, with a bit of a shove, you could get them into the standard slots - although the Maxxis can measure up slightly smaller than expected.

Enjoy, you'll find it a hoot - just make sure you don't air the tyres too low for 'Rim Dinger'! I ended up bottoming out four or five times on the way down burping air all the way, although they just about stayed up (only had about 14psi in there when 17 - 18 would have been more advisable).

Cheers all

I’ve emailed them to see what they say. I’ve not been for a few years so I hope it’s a go-er.

They’ve said it should be ok with a bit of a pressure drop!

I went last year with a Trek Stache with 3” Minions, as already said the front slots take the tyres fine and everyone was cool with letting me use those slots (the drivers took control as you’d expect anyway)

Excellent. I’ll be booking on in a few weeks.
