As a kid, I ALWAYS wanted a Bianchi road bike. I didn't really care which one; it just needed to be that beautiful Bianchi blue colour. The fact that I finally got one in candy-apple red was still good, mind... 🙂
BUT, in spite of the fact that Bianchi make mountain bikes, I have never even thought about owning one, hardly seen one in stores, and definitely never seen one on the trails.
Any reason? What other manufacturers are associated with one form of cycling but not another, yet make perfectly good versions of both?
