Anyone use these?
I've been using this app which links to Strava for a few months now, to make keeping my bike running smoothly one less thing to think about. It lets you set service intervals at the component level, based on number of rides, ridden distance or time, and calendar time. Setting such intervals is of course hugely variable as it depends on conditions and usage; I'm a weekend/holiday north UK year-round trail/countryside rider. Only a couple of components have manufacturer recommendations. So when I set it up, it was a combination of recommendations, internet advice, and a good dose of reckoning. I've refined some things but there are still many that are off due to being based on calendar time, which of course doesn't account for how much I happen to be out on the bike. Then of course there's extras before/during/after a big rough weekend or holiday, and obvious things like wiping dirty stanchions, checking when there's a noise, or lubing the chain after washing.
I have pretty much all components registered on the app to track how long they last, but some without a service interval as they'll be obvious (e.g. worn tyre), or are naturally checked when swapping something else (e.g. cassette with chain, tyre insert and sealant when swapping worn or winter/summer tyres).
I'll be changing a bunch of these to be based on ridden hours rather than calendar time. In fact I'll probably change most of them so things will continue to come up for attention together in batches.

That seems like a lot of work!
Every gritty/ wet ride, wash bike clean and lube chain fork, shock and seatpost. Visually check everything wheel trueness.
Bolt check every ride.
Chain check, bearing check, small fork service every 6 months. Big fork service once a year.
I never check chains, 10,11, 12, whatever, I just ride, if it starts skipping I'll replace, but until then, I don't worry.
The rest, yeah, sure.
