For MTB or road? How long do you ride for?

Ravemen for the road. Will also work off road.

If it's for the road get something with StVZO:
https://www.bikeradar.com/advice/buyers-guides/stvzo-bike-lights/

Busch and Muller or Lezyne are the go-to brands for this:
https://www.bikester.co.uk/accessories/bicycle-lights/busch-muller+lezyne/

I have this:
https://www.bikester.co.uk/busch-muller-ixon-core-front-headlight-M325381.html?vgid=G364215&cgid=300953
which is pug-ugly, but is also the best front light I've ever had. It's really bright with a good beam pattern, but doesn't piss off oncoming motorists or pedestrians

Though that might be a contributing factor to cars at junctions not seeing cyclists and suddenly pulling out, because the light beam is pointing at the ground.

StVZO lights don't point at the floor, they just have a shaped beam that doesn't dazzle drivers or cyclists coming the opposite direction, same as a car headlamp on dipped beams.

Thousands of night vision destroying lumens is not helpful on road.

I've got a Sigma one that's a fair bit cheaper than the Busch and Muller ones that's also good OP.

Just bought some £20 lights from Ali-Express that have beam cut off's like StVZO standard. Newboler

https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005003745985767.html

Took just two weeks to arrive.

Very impressed with the beam pattern and definitely doesn't dazzle. I'm using two for my commute which is a mix of gravel paths and shared use spaces, which aren't lit, and your usual 'off road' lights just blind all the other users. I still encounter the idiots with the "fit inducing" flash.

For a rear light or two, PX have a really good COB LED light for about £7

I've got the AMPP800 - bought it in a sale for 27 quid. It's really good, shame about the USB mini port rather than a 'C' but otherwise it's a really good road light. Has quite a lot of side illumination which is good for round here where the road edge/verge is not always obvious, decent punch out front, doesn't see to annoy oncoming drivers. I rarely use the 800 setting - mostly the 400 and it lasts ages on that.

Does MTB Batteries UK still make lights?

Doesn't look like there's any for sale on the website.

Over the years I've had 3 different lights and replacement batteries from MTB Batteries. They've all been great. I was out last night on the cross bike with my Lumeneater.

He's never made lights to my knowledge (might have supplied battery packs), but he does import specific lights from china, with his own branding & quality control you can trust. He supports his 'lights' & builds and repair battery packs (^see Jedi's post^), as his main business. Currently only seems to have headlights in stock but no doubt he'll have some of his main light soon.

Not exactly cheap, but not mega bucks either and t has great burn times with more than enough lumens for road works, the Exposure Diablo Mk.12 with the added bonus of it'll last for ages, amazing aftersales back up and it's also very small and fits beneath an out in front computer mount easily - with the right adapter.

stvzo +1 for the road.

It's nothing at all like pointing of-road lights down at the ground. It's more like cutting it in half so the brightest point is shining up the road giving you maximum range, then the effective brightness on the road is evenly distributed from that point back to your wheel.

It's why they're rated in lux not lumens, its the light intensity that's actually reaching the road. So 70 Lux is about ~400lumens, but looks like ~1500 because the top half and peripheries are cut off.
