I think most of us suspect that the manufacturer's claimed output for their bike lights is exaggerated. However, now that I have an integrating sphere tt test them, I have been surprised how many are accurate, or exceed the claimed output, including the Cateye Volt 6000. if you want to check those tested so far you can find them on my blog: http://www.torchythebatteryboy.com/p/bike-light-database.html
Or on facebook:
Good read.. Cheers👍
Any plans to test the Bikehut 1600? Good job so far though, always helps to see a proper comparison.
~What ? Torchy is on STW?
Someone who actually knows what they are talking about: he'll never fit in! 🙂
Great write ups btw! And it's interesting that while I've been reading your reviews for LEDs and batteries for what seems like years there is never a defined bias: you come accross as pretty objective.
Keep up the good work! And the good batteries.
That one looks interesting, and good value if it is anywhere near 1600 lumens.
Just bought : Bikehut 1000, Bikehut 1600 and Gemini Xera (with separate battery pack, not the dreadful internal 18650 model). I will report back shortly.
The Bikehut 1000 and 1600 arrived.
First impression - bloody hell, I've pulled the usb port right out of the light. But all was ok, just wasn't expecting the usb port to be so far inside the light body, and the cover/plug is pretty big.
The 1600 certainly looks bright to the naked eye.
Have you ever done the Evolva/Nitenumen X8?
Good reviews
You said nice things about my Smart 700 😉
