Afternoon!

I've got some bike lights which I'm more than happy with.
They are from America and have been working fine. But my
last couple of attempts of charging seem to have failed.

The plug seems to indicate charging and then indicate a fully charged
battery, I then connect the lights and nothing!

I can post photo's if needed, but is there any advice on what I can try.

The charger to the battery has an American plug on it, which I use an
adapter with.

The battery is 5200mAh (H18650CHx4) li-ion battery.

Just want to get the light working.

I have a Hope light and battery for a different bike and it would be ideal to switch the Hope battery across bikes, but unfortunately the connectors don't match.

Any advice/ideas/help would be much appreciated!

Cheers!

if you're getting nothing at all it's more likely a loose connection somewhere.
what sort of light - LED, halogen etc.

edit: having said that if there's really insufficient charge in the battery it will not start the lamp - deep discharge would happen otherwise, and this is really bad for the cells.

suggest you find someone to look at it.

Thanks Del!

Wondering whether I can buy a new battery unit with a UK plug charger?

Or whether there is a cable adapter to connect a hope battery to this adapter - assuming the hope battery pack is ok to use?

Very ignorant in this battery stuff!

Here's a pictures of the light...

Just match the battery voltage to the light, 4.2 or 8.4 v (fully charged) as long as the pin fits and it's centre positive (they nearly always are) you'll be fine.

Thanks for the response!

The pack says it's 7.4V battery!
would it shag the light unit if I look for a new battery
with the correct pin?

Any recommendations for suppliers of rechargeable battery packs?
I've looked through ebay/internet. As I think I might need someone
to chat with regarding the purchase?

As I'm wondering whether it could be a custom build!

Thanks again for all responses

Your pack is 8.4v fully charged, so 7.2-8.4v is what you're after.
You could just buy a cheap Chinese light from ebay for <£20, but you do get what you pay for there.
ALL Chinese sellers lie about the brightness and battery capacity, as long as you know that, you'll be fine 😉
