Hi all,

renewing homes contents insurance. Adding all the bikes adds about £80 a year to the contents insurance. That doesnt seem too bad for £8kish of bikes
Anyone got a separate policy for less than £80?

Always been cheaper on a home policy for me. Just check the wording for when you are out and about is ok for you.

Bikes only policy premium will typically be 10% of insured value, leave you to do the sums…

Mine are on the household insurance, cheapest way of doing it. Aviva you just need to tell the value of the most expensive one and the rest are covered.
Also have cover for them on the van insurance just in case, that added about £25.
Still need separate insurance abroad though and that is very expensive (2wks in Europe wasn't a lot less than an entire year of house and contents!)

Household contents with Axa for me.
Not specifically bikes: Any single item upto £15k, with a £100k maximum claim !
(Was Aviva before, but Axa then came in cheaper).

Done through Landsdowne Insurance Brokers.

I had my bikes nicked when they were on my Admiral home policy.

It took a month before they approved replacements and the I had to use Tredz or accept a lower cash value.

I'm now with Laka. My policy sometimes costs more than my car insurance (it's a collective so premiums change monthly. But are capped).

I crashed and broke my Garmin 1030 once. I had a replacement in the post 2 days later. I have no doubt a bike replacement would be equally as quick.

Have a look at Barclays. You can get just the bike part of their home insurance. You tell them the cost of the most expensive bike (up to £5k) and then all the bikes in the household are covered up to that. Cost me £50 for most expensive at £5k. That was a lot cheaper than other options and also no faff specifying individual bikes.
