I have been loking at getting insurance for my bikes. Currently they sit on the house policy but the cover is fairly limited. Have most people found just increasing the house policy cover the best way to go or to get a specific seporate bike insurance policy. Is there any cover which is good that doesnt cost the earth?

Ay views?

Try these guys... https://pedalcover.co.uk/

I have flipped regularly between M&S and John Lewis cover because of their bike cover but they’ve tightened up a lot recently. The PedalCover policies appear fair.

I was with M&S for years when they were the ones to go for, when their policy got crap I moved to Aviva. Did get Pedalcover to quote me one year but they were hundreds more expensive than my existing cover.

We're with Admiral for home insurance and they include cover for away from home including damage from crashing etc. They also agreed to cover the bikes chained to the back of our van as long as we've used an insurance approved lock.

I’m with John Lewis, pedalcover came in more expensive this year, although I only have the most expensive and my road bike listed on the policy.

Pedalcover cover bikes outside the house I think worldwide but certainly across Europe. They just need to to be locked to be covered.

standard household quote was £200 and they were £350 to give you an idea.

I'm with Bikmo
Only heard good things about them from those that have had to claim, they also alow for policy changes very easily so if your a constant upgrader like me you can tailor the policy on a monthly/weekly/daily or hourly basis really easily and quickly on line.

I've just renewed with lv. Was the cheapest I could find which covers the bike away from home. Also covers loss or damage on flights.
It was about £230 to cover everything.

You guys with Aviva, LV etc., did you face a value cap on the bikes? £1500 or so?
