Haven't been abroad for a few years - who's good for insurance these days?
Will be mainly XC in big hills rather than alpine. Hiring a bike when I get there, so don't need all that much possessions cover.
Unfortunately the free insurance I get with my building society excludes MTBing, and I'm not a homeowner so no home policy.
Snowcard.
or sportscoverdirect or dogtag. Those three ended up top of my list.
Dogtag are very fussy if you end up in a private hospital. A mate of my broke his shoulder last year, went to the nearest hospital to get put back together (out-patient) and DogTag have refused to pay up as there was a public hospital somewhere in the town.
On the other hand, Snowcard seem bloomin' expensive.... £325 for a couple to cover Downhill for the year.
Does anyone have any claims experience with Snowcard?
£325 for a year! 😯 I think my quote was £310 for 2 weeks 2 people, with Snowcard! 😯
Annual policies are often much better value than single trip, so that sort of thing can happen (used to do travel insurance for Direct Line many moons ago)
