Hi guys,
Yesterday parked my bike , boardman hybrid pro, attached to the rail at the entrance of my workplace. Finished my shift at 00.30, went out and find mi front wheel smashed, few scratches and I still have to check the carbon forks, went straight to security to check the security camera, got it, big truck hit my bike and the rail, reversed and went. Got the reg and the company. Any advice on how to deal with this. Thanks
Smiting.
were they delivering to your company.
If so get HSE on the case. company will be hauled up.
I was on a thirdparty base and another third party clipped a gate in their truck. slight damage to truck nothing to gate.
paperwork was hell....
Call them up and explain, plus email a copy of the vid?
Oh, and after the smiting, a very minimum of a new bike. Really you should get the railings checked too. Don't even think about using the forks again, and if a frame's been in a truck/railing sandwich, I'd have to be paid a lot of money to ride it in traffic.
Phone them? Quite probable they don't even realise they hit it.
I almost reversed into/over a fiat 500 in a LWB sprinter reversing it into a parking space then realising that I'd lined up with the wrong car in my mirror and that space I was reversing into wasn't empty! 😳
Get a quote, send them the evidence, ask them to pay.
If that fails, you could get in touch with their insurer directly.
If that fails, small claims court.
"Phone them? Quite probable they don't even realise they hit it."
or they did and scarpered . as a car recovery truck did with a colleagues range rover in the carpark at our office....
hit it ...got out looked at the damage and ****ed off.....
all caught on CCTV.
company played hardball - then got presented with video evidence. paid up.
