I'm taking Jnr age 15 for his first trail centre / Fan lodge visit next April. Â My journey will be London, Cwm Carn, Afan, London and I'd like him to have a decent FS to enjoy the trails on.
Any idea how I can hire a suitable say 140mm FS trail bike in London / en route so we can rock up at Cwm Carn with such a bike and drop it off on the way back?
He's an established rider and fit Triathlon athlete so no issues there.
Could you hire at cwmcarn? It's only 15 mins off the motorway on the way back to drop it back. That also gives you the first day to sort out teething issues or swap it if it doesn't quite work.
There's some hire shops near BPW which isn't too far in Merthyr itself.

The bike shop there will only allow the bike to be ridden at Cwmcarn unfortunately. Â And BPW, I could but it eats into trail time a bit going there and back.
Could you organise a test bike for the weekend from an lbs? Not sure if they would be ok with a long trip but worth asking as you have plenty of time.
