Staying near Kirroughtree next week, easy reach of some of the others, and MrsMC has just asked if it would be possible to hire something "nice" or "different" as a holiday treat for myself.

Anything available at any of the Stanes? She was thinking of fat bikes, I'll accept anything spanglier than a Mk1 Soul!

I think The Break Pad has Orange 5's and Santa Cruz 5010s for hire, £50 a day or there abouts.

As above, some tasty gear at the break pad. Don't know about fat bikes, but judging by my trip round Dalbeattie and drumlanrig this week, and vague memories of Kirriemuir a coupl of years ago I'd go for something with plenty of bounce.

You don't need bounce 🙄

An auld Blue Pig is all that is needed 💡

Before that I rode a '96 Bontrager with 100mm travel...... 😛

All about commitment. Ride to your ability and enjoy 😆

The most fun I had around any of the stanes was on an NS Surge with old Pikes on the front, closely followed by an Anthem. Short travel with lots of go - perfect 😀

I find the Stanes more fun on Anthem than Soul
