So I always have this problem. Trying to find a helmet to fit. My head measures 55cm and is right in the middle of top end of a small size and bottom end of a medium size. And neither fit! I've tried a Giro Chronicle and Bell Sizer in the medium size. Even on the tightest fitting the Giro moved around too much but was very comfortable. The Bell had more adjustment for a tighter fit so kept it but it kept slioping down over my eyes and is basically too big - so passed that on to someone else.

The small size in the Giro is too tight on largest size and hurts my head! So I know something out there must fit me but generally medium is too big and small too small. So any particular brands that don't have the cut off size at 55cm? I could do with a size between small and medium!

Try a few more brands. It's more likely to do with finding the right shape. Some of us have very oval shaped heads, others are more round. You're really just going to have to visit a few shops to find out.

I seem to be between M and L in Giro helmets, the M is slightly tight but the large is huge. For the last few years I have been using Specialized helmets which seem to fit my headsize, but recently got a Bontrager helmet which is a really good fit. Well worth trying a few different brands on as there will be one out there that fits well.

Specialized was also my answer to this.

Tactic 2 then 3 in medium are the best fitting lids I've worn in forever.

Troy Lee A1 in small is just about ok.

Me too, I’ve got a tiny head. Try one of the Spesh helmets that come on 3 sizes (s/m/l) and I bet a small will do you.

Bell and Giro use very similar shape lasts.

As others say try other brands, maybe not the best time though!

I have been looking into the Smith session and have read a lot of reviews that it runs large so may be good for you in a small size.

Go I to a big bike shop and try on as many as you can. Fit is the most important factor in a helmet to me.

I'd never have bought a Smith Portal if I hadn't tried one just to check after way too long trying Spesh/Giro/Kask etc etc
