Going bpw and looking for stop over on way home to ride fod day after , any one know a good place to stay near monmouth that is bike friendly
We stayed at the Sloop Inn in Llandogo when we did a little bike tour around that area. Basic, but decent pub grub and they were fine with the bikes (we had the room with the balcony, so we had the bikes on the balcony and chained them to the railings). It's about 15/20mins from Monmouth by car on the Chepstow road.
Not near Monmouth but we stayed in an apartment above a pub called the Colliers Arms literally 2 minutes from bike park Wales. With that new road between Merthyr and Abergavenny etc it didn’t actually take long to get to either Abergavenny or FOD.
It was a nicely put together apartment, with a properly secure bike room with rings on the wall to lock your bike to. They’d arranged it so there was a hose pipe just outside the door and they even had muck off : bike washing brushes available. They either had a room for 6 people or for 4 people with bunk beds and both with an en-suite bathroom. Shared breakfast room between the 2 rooms with all breakfast stuff supplied.

The pub doesn’t do food but they allowed you to order takeaway to the pub and supplied plates / cutlery etc. They’re taking Covid fairly seriously so it was table service only / tables spaced apart / hand gel : trick and trace details being taken. We paid £140 in total for the 6 bed room for 2 nights.
