Revised week off plans - Ullapool C2C2C sans luggage 😎

Last time I stayed at the hostel it was roasting and I was kept awake all night by naked snoring motorcyclists. An experience I'm anxious not to repeat!

Any recommendations for a single room/single night?

We stayed in the Harbour House Hotel the last time we did it. Really friendly and let us wash and dry our stuff overnight. Go for the Dipping Lugger if you want luxury 😉

Sort of a combination of the classic C2C2C but with some of the Tour de Ben Wyvis thrown in (and that wee bitty of the HT550 you highlighted in a thread years ago 😎). I've done a lot of the eastern parts in a loop from Evanton to Oykel Bridge and back via Ardgay.

I'm swithering because I've not ridden much in the last six months and worried I'll just be sore and miserable by the middle of day 2, but worrying about being in peak form all the time is what always stops me doing things so I'll need to just bite the bullet and commit to something!

Awfully tempted by a 2-day road trip with the road bike also, friends just back from Mull raving about it, has been a while...

Were they riding a Himalayan and have a nickname of @kayak23?

lovely! C2C is ace. I did it very softly (*) with a bunch and we stopped at the Oykell Bridge Hotel mid route - what a place, help yourself buffet that carpeted for hunting shooting fishing types - could barely move next morning!

  • not entirely - it was on singlespeed 🙂

Booked!

Thanks Scotroutes, Ladysmith peeps seemed very friendly and accommodating 👍

If anyone wants to join in the fun I'll see you bright and early in Evanton on Monday 3rd 😎
